Still missing my Evo... the bug has bitten me again... what to do!!!?

My dad has a stock MKIV TT and i get to drive it every once in a while. Its pulls pretty hard on the highway but the turbo lag is pretty bad at low speeds. I would take the supra any day over the evo just because it has more potential.
In stock form the evo is more fun to drive and easier to deal with on a day to day basis. The supra is more of a weekend car. I would hate to put a ton of miles on such a rare car from driving it daily.
The evo would seem to be the best fit for you especially since you live where it snows. Driving a modded supra in the snow would probably be a handful especially if its your only car

There is no doubt I love the Supra, being that I have driven a MKIV TT and now have an Evo, I have to say that for the pure excitement and overall joy the evo wins. Yes the Supra can be turned into a beast in all areas but for the overall fun factor an Evo wins. I agree with Evo2Fast4u, keep your supra as a project and save up for a fun DD

You have to build the Evo over 500hp to keep it reliable. Some people will argue this number. Personally I think anything over 450 you need a built block. Some will say 550.
Reguardless, anywhere from 450-550hp, if your going over this you need a built block.
Supra reliability point (again, can be argued) imo is 800/850whp stock block. Anything over that, sure can be done, but reliably needs to be built.
Cliff Notes: Supra stock block can hold more power than Evo stock block... substantially more.

I've been around more Supras than Evos actually... and i can tell you there are just as many 350-450whp Supras as there are 800whp ones. Its their long term reputation for high hp thats led to this... Evos (in the states) have only been around since 03' and there are plenty of 700+ examples many of which are not shop owned or sponsored. These are Joe Shmo using off the shelf kits (eg. AMS) Then of course you have ridiculous examples like the 1000+whp shop cars just like you have 1000+whp supras... id say pound for pound they have similar "potential"
I love both of them... so either decision you make is a winner to me

Wow, negative equity, selling and NADA values...
Save your money, buy a Honduh and then pay cash. You seem to want more than your wallet can afford.
Supras and Evo's are nice cars, but damn kiddo... You gotta pay to play.
I'd get an Evo and a Supra. A DD Evo and a Single Turbo Supra that is.

The way I see it... You are in a EVO specific forum. You've already made up your mind. You just wanted some validation for your decision. In that case, sir, I'd say whether or not you keep the Supra, you really want to get another EVO. Why not make it a IX? Do it. You know you want / need it.

People are too fickle about their cars. My brother has had his IX MR for a lil over 2 years. It doesn't get driven much, but he loves to have it just in case he wants to drive it.
He tries to buy his DD's outright that way he won't have negative equity when he switches cars...which he has done a little bit. I think for DD he went: 94 Galant--> 97 200sx--> 96 Neon--> 99 Impreza (still owns)--> 96 Integra--> 92 MR2 Turbo--> 93.5 N/A Supra (getting ready to sell for....)--> 94 Supra TT he picked up today actually.
If all goes well when he sells his NA he will have made right around the entire cost of the TT Supra. He already pickup up the TT so he had to pay out of pocket for that one. Unfortunately this one is an auto, but it will have a fresh 6-speed within a week or 2 max.
Personally I prefer the Evo so that's what I would go with, but you can't argue with a Supra's power.

In all honesty, in your position, I'd sell the supra... get a evo. Have fun with it... bla bla bla... then when you are a bit older and in your career get a perfect TT supra. A converted NA supra is still just that to the surpa world... a NA supra. It sucks, but that's just the facts. A TT will always be worth more then a swapped NA esp when you are looking at these from a collectors stand point.
so in summary... another vote for Evo.
