Question 2 offers for 30k on an evo

both dealers are on the east coast and will have to ship, one didnt call me back today, but he will have mine "shipped from japan " in 4-6 weeks (wich i think really means from that storage place in florida or where ever it is, right?)

the other has it sitting on the lot with a few miles on it (under 50) and isnt sure how long it will take, but is checking on it

I dont think anyone else can beat that, and its a guarenteed sale (cant belive the guy didnt get a hold of me :/ even talked to him this morning)

I havnt run my financing check through the 2nd guy yet because i dont want to get a bunch of credit checks on my credit record (looks bad ect..)

So baring that i find some one that can get it to alaska ( 99515) for cheaper than 30k, what would you do?

wait out the 1st one and maybe get an evo with the protective wrap still on,

or work with the 2nd guy and get one that's been sat in but will prolly get here faster

EDIT: oops, option 2 should say 2nd guy, not 3rd guy.. :P

I'd try to get as new an Evo I can get. You never know how many people and how hard the car was driven.

Question

What's it cost to ship a car NY to Alaska? Is it cheaper if it comes from Chicago? My dealer in IL will sell one for $29500 or less. He has some on his lot.

Credit checks

Multiple credit checks for the same kind of purchase (e.g. automobile, mortgage) in a 30-day period should not affect your credit score more than a single credit check.

The credit system is designed to recognize that you are loan shopping.

This is true of auto and home (secured) loans, probably not of credit cards though.

You actually have a 14 day window where all credit checks are only counted as one, no matter what the purpose is.

You should call some Chicagoland dealers if it's the same shipping regardless of origination. They will give you better prices that other areas of and they have cars now.

I am glad that Schaumburg changed their tune. I visited them in March and they would not quote a price. I spoke to a guy named Chris who actually said, "How much of a premium are you willing to pay"? He told me about the guy who bought their first Evo with a $12K premium and he assured me that "we won't charge you that much". He only said that their premiums would be less than other dealers.

Call Schaumburg and call Cub Shaver at 708-799-3600. Make it clear that you are shopping and that you will be on the first plane to Chicago as soon as you hear a good price. Play them off of each other. Don't pay more than $30K. Good luck.
