Yeah i hate it. Now I almost have to yell out to the attendant to put in premium and not regular. My GF even yelled at me for being loud to the attendant but i had to explain to her that half the time they don't listen and proceed to put in regular.

Ummm u guys do realize that your car will knock on 87, which is why they tell u not to use less than 91 in the manual......buying an evo and dumping in 87 u gotta be kidding me with that. You dont deserve the car.....seriously.

The op was keen enough to realize the error and have the attendant correct it. No one is perfect and that fact that only 3 gallons were pumped in wouldn't cause an issue. As long as you have the stock ECU it will retard the timing the help with the knock issue. I know when I go to New Jersey I always have to watch the attendant like a hawk because you can't pump your own gas in that state. When I'm in NY i always pump my own gas.
