sti hid unit swap into evo
so i recently acquired a set of headlights from a 2004 sti w/ hid. My freind said it may be possible to swap, so i figured i would give it a shot. what i really need to know is...
is it alot of work other then the bumper removal? and would it be swappable? im not talking about the headlight assembly, im talking about the hid igniters, ballasts, etc.
any help?
oh and the car is a IX rs, so no stock hids.
the other thread got no views or replies.

He's in for a lotssa work! :P
I agree with selling it and get the Evo kit. You should also must convert to protector or you'll waste it and may even a fire hazard if not reflected(sp) properly.
Good luck!

HALOGEN projectors (your RS) are not the same as HID projectors (the STI headlights). just swapping the bulbs/ballasts would be a terrible waste of time.
to do it correctly you'd need to retrofit the HID projectors into your RS headlight assembly, which will take a considerable amount of work especially since you mention 'bumper removal' as if that could be a bother in itself.
