A good 2way alarm would be good.
I have Viper 791XV
And pull a fuse, like the others have said.

on a side note:
I use a tracking device for mine, just in case.
Called a "GPS-SNITCH"

Works like a champ.
I can even track it from my phone.
And it alerts you by text message if it moves more than 3 feet or from a set perimeter that you can set.

I always thought the detachable steering wheel was a good idea as well, until my friends car was stolen, and he had taken the steering wheel in with him. The thieves drove the car with a set of vice grips.

Kill switches for the fuel pump, Kill switch for the ign system (make sure all the wire are black). An alarm with it's own form of power and some LOUD sirens. Clutch lock. Don't park in stupid spots. Tracking devices are only as good as the thief taking the car. Amature mostly stick with honda's, evo are stolen by other DSM/mitsu owners and most people who steal them know what they are doing.

Detachable steering wheels DON'T work.

Sounds like a good idea.

Put police evidence stickers on the windows......, AND THEN, put a letter on the dash stating "please remove the vehicle from the present amber alert"....
