it looks like fitment issue but it could be adhesive because i believe smikeevo uses rexpeed too and he said his fits fine. its not that much only mm of space on each end side.

Mine has the same gap, on each side (Rexpeed). I think it just doesn't have enough double sided tape..

Is it okay to leave that gap in there? or will water / dirt get in there and screw up the paint under the VG? Should we caulk it?

I think it is fine to leave it I am not worrying about it, it is so small that not much will get in there and highly doubt it would affect the paint. I'm sure if you get more adhesive it will stick down

My wife got me a Rexpeed for Christmas. I've read the paper the researchers at Mitsu posted and saw the tiny improvement in drag they claimed so I figured the thing was mostly a joke. Today, driving into a fifty mph wind, call me crazy, but I could feel the difference. The rear just felt more locked down. .

Anyone that is looking at buying a vortex generator off of mitsubishiparts.net's site be warned. It shows that you can still get them in graphite gray and cool silver for the lancer. They are not available as I just found out today. My parents ordered one in graphite gray for me as a present and the one that came was in eisen gray. When my mom called they told her bruce titus who runs the website, has been told to take that off the site, but they won't. Would have been nice to know it was the wrong color before it shipped.

the metal plate that goes on top of the antenna post on my rexspeed kit is rusted and i have rust juice flowing onto my paint. it started rusting just after 3 weeks of owning it...I have yet to remove it though. the tape is so ******* strong.

Scotchbrite?

i ordered mine today. I think when I get it i'm going to spray the metal piece with some clear coat. Hopefully that will stop the rust.

I just received the Rexpeed one and installed it with no problems. The 3M tape is super strong. The fitment is top notch and the price can't be beat. I was surprised I received it so quickly especially since they shipped it from Taiwan.
