great.....
Ok so I've read up on evos here for a while now and made the plunge last nite on a 03 bby last nite I drove 12 hrs to get it got home and slept great and was very excited for this morning. I woke up and installes a temp boost gauge I had from my old wrx and I'm only boosting 12 psi no more no less like clockwork, I checked all the vacuum lines and the plumbing looks fine but......it had a hks filter kit with pipe and a cheap bov welded to the uicp vta at that, so first thing I did this morn was recirculate the bov to the intake pipe in the hole that was plugged bfore the turbo. That helped my idle dramatically as well as the hideous whine it made. Now my question is there's no tune no mbc so bfore I get the ix dv what else could cause the low boost? Can u adjust boost on the actuator or bov? Obviously the previous owner was clueless since his mods were cheap vta bov, tubular headers, and intake wit no tune.....car runs good and smooth just low boost please help.

I believe either your stock boost solenoid is BAD... and that will automatically set your boost to 12 psi... (stock actuator pressure).... ORRRR your solenoid is GOOD... but the hoses are connected to the wrong nipples..
first try to change your hoses around.. see if thats it..
if that dont work then buy a MBC.. turn it up.. if that dont work.. then ur problem is elsewhere...

Lots of people who buy used evos run into this problem. It usually happens when the previous owner pulls out all the aftermarket parts to sell the car and don't bother to hook the boost solenoid back up. get an MBC
