Do I need a tune?

I just installed:

Buschur 3" TBE
Buschur Filter Kit w/ MAF Pipe Kit
Buschur UICP
Buschur Inline MBC set at 18 for now
Buschur Mini Battery
AEM Digital Boost Gauge

In the near future I plan on getting Kelford 272s and the Buschur Race FMIC

Do I need to get tuned now or should I wait until I get cams and the FMIC installed?

Yes you can go without a tune but what is your reason for waiting? money? I know that mellon offers a subscription option.

you could def benefit from a tune! If you're only running 18# then you're fine, but man, you could have a lot more power by getting a tune and upping the boost, a lot more power.

OMG, is this question really being asked? Sorry, had to say it b4 someone else did. One word YES! You just spent all this money on parts and install but are not reaping any of the benefits! A tune should get you 60-75 HP. Prolly more depending on the tune. I would add a fuel pump to your list as well.

I actually installed everything on my own. I just figured I could wait until cams and then dish out 375 for the tune instead of doing it twice.

Just want to be safe.

What I was getting at was the fact that you spent a lot of money for lame performance gains. If it were me and the cams would be installed in a week then I would wait. But if I just blew over a grand and spent my well earned free time wrenching to get the parts on I'd want to feel some real power. Hell it could be $500 for a tune and I'd pay it if it meant not waiting a couple monthes. So if the cams are not going in for like a month or two then get 2 tunes. And if you mean David Buschur was gonna do the tune then you don't need to know of any other places in Ohio!

You'll be fine driving it up to 21ish pounds of boost. The cars rich and running low timing so its very very conservative.

If youre looking to save money getting tuned I charge $150 for the initial full custom tune and $75 (or less depending on the upgrade) for retunes.

If you'd like more info on the process shoot me a PM and we can go over your options.

Cheers!
