Honestly I see both sides to the idea of North East winter driving:
To drive the evo in the snow or keep it as a garage queen for the winter?
I think those that say drive it in the snow are either basically stock (not a huge amount invested in the car) or cant afford a second car (not everyone has a beater) or are just loaded and don't car about winter damage.
For myself...I drove the evo for one winter back in 2004 with really nice Toyo winter tires...and the car was sooooooooooo much fun. However after buying a beater shortly after and investing 20k in mods into the evo.....I find it much more comforting to have a certified "garage queen" these days.

I plan on keeping mine in the garage indefinitely. I have a little honda civic I will be using for winter duties. I hate driving cars in the winter. Makes me sad getting them salty/dirty.

Salt when combined with water will get in every little gap and crevice even the ones the car wash can't get to. Salt is very harsh on everything. If you wrench on your fair share of cars its easy to see what salt does to bolts and what not.
If you don't plan to keep your car for more than a few years it probably doesn't matter as someone else will have to worry about the damage you've caused.
I park mine because I don't want to screw it up. We get lots of snow and have lots of retard drivers. Oh ... and those voices telling me whip the car around all the time could cause me to do something stupid.
I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee that I prefer to plow through snow banks with.

I live in Santa barbara it's 70 degrees here everyday. It hits 50 and people are freaking out because it's SO COLD and it hits 80 and people are dying of heat stroke... it makes me laugh. so I say screw winter just move to SB! no more snow worries and i'll have someone to drive with...

a dirty evo looks much much better than a clean evo imo. maybe im just wierd, but when i see cars like evo's sti's and audi's super clean, it just makes me feel uncomfortable.

It bothers me because I try to take really good care of my evo, almost OCD like. But I take a deep breath and tell myself "You only live once, enjoy what I have". Driving in an empty snow covered parking lot can be very fun.

after watching this video....
how could you not drive it in the snow?
Although if money didnt matter the evo would be a great trackday/summer car and have an sti for the winter beater..
