so you guys know...

...that there was no way I couldn't get an Evo right?

I took delivery Saturday after working out a trade-in deal on the 330i that I couldn't refuse. I got a blue by you (I just realized today the meanings of the names of these colors) Evo 8 w/ wing and sunroof.

Needless to say and as you all know, this car is possibly the best damn thing I've ever owned. I am in total bliss!! 552 miles in just 2 days, I am doing a 1k break-in (<5k rpms, oil change @ 600 and every 2500 thereafter) then adding a Blitz Fatt X turbo timer as mod #1.

Thanks so much for all you who gave me some constructive input and I look forward to becoming an integral part of the Evo 8 community. I am still formulating my mods list at this point... I'm overwhelmed by the performance of this car right now. First "mod" before the TT will be hardwiring my V1, it is essential in this vehicle (the fuzz will be after my *** real soon).

Pics to come eventually, I need a new domain name.

wh00t, congrats and enjoy. There are lots of mods available as you know, just think ahead to the longterm goal before jumping in - that way you'll save yourself money and hassles.

Congratz on the Evo... don't mind me, not enough coffee this morning on my previous comment.

Fireball maybe it's too early in the a.m. but I can't find your original post in my thread! Quote me up something so I can re-read.

Dude I don't know if I'd trade an M3 for an Evo, but the 330 was doable.

What year is your M? Options? Colors? I am still infatuated with that car.

Just curious, what happened to your test drive on the STI?

Haha, too early for me too. Actually I had thought out my entire response to your original post, but never posted it.

It was something commenting on:

"My god I love my 330, but the Evo is so much damn fun! Will I be alright without heated seats, auto wipers, power seats, a headrest, leather... can I do it?"

You can get heated seats cheap for the Evo, who cares about auto wipers, power seats are overrated because noone else should be driving your Evo, headrest what?, and leather is available as well.

kdogg, I never made it. It was 70 miles away and I couldn't get an STi around here for another 2 months anyhow.

Fireball, damn you no wonder! I concur, I like the alcantara on the recaros. I'm thinking it would be even better if the center blue part was alcantara also, instead of that fabric (which grips like hell, but is not so pleasing to the touch).

Hey Webguy,
I traded a 330i for a MINI Cooper S, then traded that for my Evo. The only thing I miss is the cruise control. My Evo is 3 times as much fun as either of the others, and much, much faster. Anyway, if I need a Beemer fix I drive my wife's 530i .

Bluesmaster, nicely done. I like the cooper s myself, had one for a loaner for 3 days. Good times but I couldn't buy one, too small. You're lucky you have a BMW outlet to utilize!
