JDM rear bumper vs. Insurance co.

JDM rear bumper vs. Insurance co.
I'm wondering what would happen if you got rear ended and had a crash beam modded for a JDM rear, what would happen? I'm guessing since it would be a "custom" or "modded" safety piece they would try to screw us out of the repairs. My guess it wouldn't be good. Anybody have any insight on this?

I think if I went the JDM bumper route I would at least get the crash beam modified so that any adjuster would at least see it there....I don't know if it will help/hurt 5mph crashes any though

ok guys, please provide some real information here.
Here is what happened to my friend with JDM bumper. My friend's red evo was hit from the driver's side and she called me up to borrow my GG crash beam just in case adjuster asks. In the end adjuster didn't notice anything, she told me the body shop says just have a crash beam laying there would be fine.
Her user name is babbidoll something on evom, pm her if you have any question. but if you have a modified crash beam they won't notice anything.

If you get hit in the rear and the damages were maximized because there was no crash beam, you better believe the insurance company will find out about it. The body shop will remove your bumper and be like wtf, theres no crash beam so they have to report that to the insurance. Now on the other hand, if you have a crash beam but modified, they will probably accept that as a valid crash beam. And if your accident didn't involve the rear bumper, they won't give a rats @ss if you have a crash beam or not.
