I made them an offer of $22k if they get me a set of Dunlop Direzza Z1's in 245/40/17 to go with the car, but I'll still have to check out the clutch and have a Mitsu inspection. As long as the warranty is active for another 36k on the drivetrain I'm not so worried about the ACD, I don't know if I'll keep it more than 1-2 years.

Still cant believe my evo is holding its value really well. I was going to buy either evo, IS250, G35(6speed) but both IS250 and G35 went down alot due to design change. I think I made really good decision.
IX with 15k miles here =D
Going oversea again soon so more year and less mileage on my evo =D
Wishing evo to become like Supras and Rx7 in few years

I see ACD reliability concerns alot; so exactly what is the cost for this part and typical labor charge? Is this mostly a non-issue if maintenance kept up and not launching or tracking? That seems like a fair offer with new tires. I have those tires on an Integra and really like them. Good choice.

I'm a little frustrated with these guys, I ran a Carfax and this car has been up for sale since 8/7/08. Four months and they're being this stubborn... the longer they take the lower the price goes on the EVO X, $29,495 now for a new EVO X GSR with 0% financing... it's getting harder to pull the trigger on the IX here.

Also, it was sold at auction in 10/2007 as a "fleet vehicle", then resold in 8/2008 as a "dealer vehicle". What does that mean? Someone drove it as a fleet vehicle for 10 months? Who the hell drives an EVO RS as a fleet vehicle???

I'm going to require them to give me a full Mitsubishi inspection and paperwork stating the warranty is still in effect before I'll consider this car, and that's after they come down to at least 21.5k or 22k with tires.

I think that sounds fair.

It's about to be on like Tron. I agreed to a sale price of $21,500 finally. I took it for a test drive and dropped by the local Mitsu dealership, and had a buddy of mine test drive it who's owned a couple EVOs in the past. Everything seems fine, clutch has life left in it, the car shifts smoothly and idles fine. The warranty is still active, so I'm not too worried about future problems right now.

They did show warranty work was done on the transmission, something about 5th gear grinding back in 2006, and they rebuilt it under warranty. This year the turbo was replaced under warranty, reportedly because of a "ticking noise" at full throttle.

Anyway it seems like a good deal, car drives fine right now and the warranty is still intact for another year on the bumper to bumper, and 3 more years on the drivetrain. Gotta get a set of tires for it, already ordered some IKH22's and an OEM oil filter, I'll be ready to primp it this weekend. =]

Thanks a ton for all the feedback here guys, I really appreciate it!

ACD pump is over $1000, takes three weeks to get and takes 4-5 hours for a mitsu mechanic to install.

That's at least a 1500 repair.

Thanks for the info. I'll read up more on aftermarket availability, rebuilt option, etc.

Yeah, I agree, but it is under warranty for another 36k and 3 years, so I'm basically getting it with a typical "new car" amount of warranty left.
