Blacked out tail light issue
I recently had a pair of stock 8 tail lights blacked out by a well known vendor here. While i wait for responses on how to handle the situation i wanted to see if anyone else experienced this issue. It seems that there are halo like burn marks forming inside the lense. It looks like an exterior scratch but its not, it started to form progressively about 1-2 months after the blackout process.
edit- the marks were not there when i first received the blacked tails back and after i put them on. they appeared a short time afterwards.

ive had them for a bit now but they started in the summer about 2 weeks after they where on the car. at first i thought it was just the way i was looking at them. i also noticed a fingerprint on the paint. i wasnt the one that sent them to him though so im kind of stuck with it i guess. if he wasnt so busy with others id send them back. i really want them red like the 7 tails

I had my original VIII lights done by someone ( ) on the SoCalEvo forums a while back and I got them back with the halo in the exact same spot. Not to forget I also got a crack that developed on the bottom corner - guy didn't do **** for a warranty. =\

Mine look exactly the same way. Both of them have a circular hologram look, just like in the original pictures! I'm puzzled as to why they are doing this. This only happened after I painted mine black as well.
Hopefully someone will have some answers!

It didn't happen after you painted them black. You just couldn't see if before they were painted.

I’m completely talking out of my a** but it seems semi-logical in my head. It seems like since the reflective chrome isn’t there to disperse the light evenly on the plastic shield. so it focuses the light directly onto that area of the outer shell. (Magnifying glass effect)
My guess is if a flat black wasn’t used it wouldn’t happen. Could be wrong, but has anyone used or have a reflective black finish on the inside?
