I came from a 240sx that had a very tiny t25 and virtually no turbo lag even running 14psi (a lot for that turbo) and when I first drove my VIII before I bought it I thought it was just as fast as my 240sx even though it had a TBE and mbc, but no tune at the time. The day before I picked up the car I was getting on the highway and the guy that owned the Evo got on the highway just behind me and stuck on my tail all the way down the on ramp, but when we actually got on the highway I was still going full throttle at 14psi in my 240sx and he blew by me like it was nothing! So i guess I'm saying that the Evo had an even smoother feel to me than my 240sx, but it did have very aggressive coilovers on it too.

I just test drove the 06 evo mr and wow. i was disapointed.. i felt more power come out of my toyota.. haha
the lag in the turbo wasso bad and it wasnt a race feel it was a luxory feel to smooth for my taste i was very very disapointed.
does any1 no if the evo i drove was just ****ty or sumthin it had only 17000 miles on it. just it wasnt hitting anythinggood..
i mean top end it was quick but arent those cars supost 2 be quick on both ends

I personally didn't like the feel of any of the 06s I drove. I opted for the Evo8 which IMO felt more powerful low end. My advice is try driving a few more and then make an assumption. I test drove many evos at least ten times before I bought mine. But I must say I was hooked when I first drove an 05 MR. Give the 8 a try, you may feel that its different
feel means nothing. if you want to feel fast put blown out shocks on your car and feel that baby rock back. you will feel like your pushing 1000whp.
