Something must be wrong if when you hit boost your organs didn't cry in your body.

I personally didn't like the feel of any of the 06s I drove. I opted for the Evo8 which IMO felt more powerful low end. My advice is try driving a few more and then make an assumption. I test drove many evos at least ten times before I bought mine. But I must say I was hooked when I first drove an 05 MR. Give the 8 a try, you may feel that its different

if you think stock turbo lag is bad then a turbo'd car isn't for you.

Drive a GSR...different suspension, not such a "Luxory feel" and maybe your question on power will be answered as well if you got a run down car. As for the other comments...bring your flame retardent...Toyota...BS.

I find it funny that you felt like the 8 was faster. I've never driven a stock VIII to compare to my IX but I've read that the VIII feels like it's boost is more ON/OFF and that the Mivec in the IX smooths some of that out.

I think it's because the Ford Ranger is such a TORQUE MONSTER. I could be wrong though

I didn't say it felt faster, I said it felt more powerful low end. I just never felt that the MIVEC was all that great. I would still take an 8 to this day over the 9. Just my preference. I would definitely rather dd a 9 though over the 8.

Actually when I first drove my Evo it didn't feel fast at all.
I didnt break 5k rpms, but I was like.. this is the pull everyone's been raving about?
And no it's not supposed to be fast from the bottom, especially. Heavy, awd, low compression 2 liter 4cyl and no boost = weak low end.

Wow more powerful? I'm glad you prefer the VIII. I'll take the IX knowing bolton for bolton it's basically a factory cammed VIII.
