I just test drove the 06 evo mr and wow. i was disapointed.. i felt more power come out of my toyota.. haha
the lag in the turbo wasso bad and it wasnt a race feel it was a luxory feel to smooth for my taste i was very very disapointed.
does any1 no if the evo i drove was just ****ty or sumthin it had only 17000 miles on it. just it wasnt hitting anythinggood..
i mean top end it was quick but arent those cars supost 2 be quick on both ends

I personally didn't like the feel of any of the 06s I drove. I opted for the Evo8 which IMO felt more powerful low end. My advice is try driving a few more and then make an assumption. I test drove many evos at least ten times before I bought mine. But I must say I was hooked when I first drove an 05 MR. Give the 8 a try, you may feel that its different

I didn't say it felt faster, I said it felt more powerful low end. I just never felt that the MIVEC was all that great. I would still take an 8 to this day over the 9. Just my preference. I would definitely rather dd a 9 though over the 8.

Actually when I first drove my Evo it didn't feel fast at all.
I didnt break 5k rpms, but I was like.. this is the pull everyone's been raving about?
And no it's not supposed to be fast from the bottom, especially. Heavy, awd, low compression 2 liter 4cyl and no boost = weak low end.
