I feel your pain man, but I would just order a new one and replace it....that's all, and just forget about the rest because everyone goes through it sooner or later. All the best!!!

This kind of stuff that we hear about backs up my point about a common disrespect amungst the general population for other peoples stuff (specifically cars).
I had some church group leader set his spiral notebook on my hood while I was getting ready to go snowboarding... At least he hadn't a clue. The A-hole who stole your badge was doing it on purpose!
I'd replace it if you truely like it. Its up to you but I wouldnt be worried that it will get stolen again.
