Thinking about painting valve cover.

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone had any pictures of this, I am thinking about painting the valve cover gloss black and then painting the spark plug cover silver w/ black letters. Anyone seen this?

I don't have a pic but im sure it would look great! I wish I had a pic of the one on my Sentra. I think I have the color scheme you're considering except I have red letters. I love custom valve covers.

It would look great, but you should consider powder coating. It's more durable. They make alot of colors in powder coats too. My powder coater has over 5000 colors to choose from.

Here's a company that does a lot of powdercoated valve covers to give you an idea:

But need to find good design that will match my car.

i'd definitely powder coat as like the others have said.. it's MUCH more durable, of course you could always polish it too, but then there's a lot of upkeep unless you clearcoat it, and then it loses some of it's luster.

I went by the auto parts store and picked up a can of black wrinkle paint and for about $5 did my valve cover. The wrinkle paint is very durable and reisists oil, brake fluid, etc.

Powder coating is great. I've seen some really cool stuff done with it also. I'm going with a dark look under the hood so I got my turbo housing powder coated satin black to match my plug cover etc.
