It appears that many people are leaning toward buying the demo vs the SRT4. As for me, first of all, I wouldn't buy the SRT4 even if I didn't get the demo...but that's just me. But I would only get the demo with an extended warranty included. Dispite the fact that I love my evo, personally I really don't think it takes that much to break an evo.

It is also funny how most people here are telling you to get the demo and are saying things like......it takes more then so and so miles to abuse the evo yet when things starts to break on their evo that they bought brand new, they start to gripe and ***** about quality. So yeah...he should be worry since brand new evos are breaking, why wouldn't a used one break as easily if not easier.

Not entirely true, my dealer gave me an extended 7 year 75,000 mile warranty on my EVO.

I saw an advertisement in the daily news last week for a demo Evo ... w/2100 miles they where selling it for $24,888.
I called them and they told me it was sold allready but I could buy a brand new one with ZERO miles for $28,000.

Is this the same car ? Bay Ridge Mitsubishi ?

yeah same one dude you probably right if it was sold. I kinda decided on SRT-4 already. It had been on newspaper for quite awhile even this weekend so i dont know but guy told me on weekend it was still there. IM goin to look at it tommorow if they still have it, if they do im goin to see what deal i can get. But SRT-4 seems to be my choice unless dealer gives me a offer i cant refuse.

What exactly are you looking for in a car?

24k is nice for the EVO. I'd ask for a free extended warranty.

I'm sure you've browsed the srt boards. You know that our cars are capable of WAY more than most people think. All depends on what your looking for.

sigh 2K+ is a lot of beating, esp since, you know everyone that drove it probably wasn't used to that clutch or gearbox. Yeah I would look for a private selling for a slightly used evo, at least there will be a chance that it was broken in correctly.....

I test drove a srt-4, kinda feels cheap, but it pulls HARD for a 20K car.......

The SRT-4 is cheap and the Evo is the ****. Evo Bud

Careful with the demo miles. Just wait for a private seller, Most people have babied the break in miles.

Just remember at the end of the day as you pull in the garage you can tell everyone you drive a NEON.

I got a kick out of one member who said its "just a neon" or a Girly car.. Personally I love Neons.. have a 95 in addition to my Evo..

I'm still chucking because some of the neon comments came from someone who lists one of their cars as a Dahlia blue Cavalier..

yeah this guy i somewat know bought a used srt-4 and has had a few probs already im guessing it was broken in right. Ima stick to new car i been fortunate to own '02 Jetta 2.0 and '03 Jetta GLI(VR6). Broke em right and they did their job since i was the one that broken em in right. PLus to buy a privatly own evo i need alot more money than i have now. Still a very tuff decision since car is still there and SRT-4s wont be in NYC till another few weeks.

Of course the SRT4's have problems already. You get what you pay for.

SRT4 seems to be geared toward the 1/4 mile drag racing crowd... which, to me, is a stupid *** scene in the first place. who cares about going in a straight line really fast? once you learn how to launch in the clutch, there's no real skill any more.

a rally-tuned vehicle that handles like a champ that you can take auto-xin' stock.... i'd get the evo.

but then, the evo may not be be there any longer... pity.
