I agree. As a tech myself, I understand that it is my responsibility to make sure a car is road-worthy before returning it to the customer. So, don't blame the shop, blame the tech. You should have no problems getting work done there, just make sure to tell them not to let that tech work on your car again. It is also highly likely that the tech was fired after the incident, I know I would be if I made such a massive mistake such as this. Drain plugs and lugnuts are the most important things to double check before finishing the work, any good tech worth his weight should know this. At least the manager was stand-up about the situation and took care of you.for crappy techs

as long as they are gonna pay for the damages like they said , but at the same times its a problem for u that u didnt expect, i always do the same catch myself saying ...should i say something when i see it not going my way b/c im afraid they will mess something up even more

wow...this could have ended a lot worse but situation still blows! I'll be bringing my torque wrench next time I get my wheels balanced. 80+-3 ft lbs as I recall.
