I had a squeak that bugged the crap out of me for a year. I thought it was from the driver side dash where it meets the a pillar trim. I would bang the crap out of it, it would go away for 2 min and come back. I removed the vent and cluster, tapped on dash and the noise was still there. WTF? I traced the noise all the way down to below the steering wheel. I loosened the couple screws at the bottom of the panel below the steering wheel to find where plastic meets the aluminum frame. I put some grease there, and the squeak is gone.

I can't believe how the noise travels to make me think it was near the pillar. I also wonder why I lived with that noise for so long for something so simple to fix.

 

My rear view mirror rattles, I thought it was coming from the dash forever.

My dash is a rattle machine too! haha

 

Foam tape works wonder on noisy plastic parts.

 

The rattle I get is under the passneger air bag. I can put mu finger on the top of the air bag and the rattle stops. Any suggestions on how to fix it????

My glove box rattles, so I put some foam tape to seal it tight... still hear it occasionally tho, so I gave up caring

 

I think the easier way to find your answer would be to create a thread called "Anyone NOT have a dash rattle?", subtract the number of posts from the number of Evo owners, and there's the answer to your first question

 

funny thing lot of the peeps seem to have the same one I have by the airbag or around that area. Sooo guess i'm good then.

 

I got tired of tracking down rattles inside my car so I just turn up my radio.

 

Have to agree on this one.. My evo ALWAYS rattles. Got nervous at first when I first bought it but soon realized its made for performance NOT luxury its part of the package.

 

Whenever my evo rattles, I remember that I didn't buy a BMW.
