How are people that are giving the community another race to go to instead of driving 8+ hours from the tri-state area cowards? Last time I checked, there wasn't a rule that there can be only one DSM/EVO SO. And yes there will be more people going to the OH SO then the Etown one but remember that when David started this SO it was only attended by a handful of people, now look at it. So if the Etown race works out this year, it can only get better as the years go on. Calling people cowards is alittle much Mike....

So why not settle all the complaints on the track. Turn the DSM shootout into E-Town VS. Tri-State? East coast VS Mid West....heck the list can go on and on.

After all, we are all wanting to have a great time and race. I personnaly have not attended the big events because of all of the drama that happens. I am sure the experience is great, but the pissing matches need to stop.

Take into consideration that Business is Business and if someone gets their peepee stepped on in an internet forum, well I say boo hoo to you. Come on people, grow up and act like adults.

Dave, I have been to your shop and I must say I was impressed. The buzz there is amazing. I have been to other shops and the same buzz is all about the shop. We all enjoy the same thing.....making fast cars. It is the challenges from other shops/tuners that should motivate us to rise above the BS and thank our competitors for making us try harder to succeed.

From NJ but driving out to Ohio this year. Being on this site for 4yrs now. I can see how DB has turned some people off for sure.

As of right now my car does not have 1 BR part on it. But you simply cannot deny BR's track record and dedication to making mitsu's go fast.

To me BR knows their **** and has a real passion for fast mitsu's.

I will be making a BR purchase in the future. Block, Head and Trans

Because they are hurting the racers, not giving us another race. Many people would like to enjoy both races, but since its on the same weekend, can not. If it was on another weekend people would be happy about it. They are taking away the opurtunity to runin both events and that is whats ****ty.

Exactly.. This doesnt better the Import Racing community.. Its hurts it.. They are diluting the field of cars that could be racing heads up.. NEVER EVER would the guys in the honda world who by far are the largest group of import drag racers IMO pull a stunt like this.. You DREAM of having a race where everyone you hate can attend so you can take a lane and lay a can of whoop *** on them.. You dont divide the field so all that hate 1 group can have their own little race.. It could have been made the week before or after and i would have stayed up there for the week and travelled across to the next race like i did last year from Etown to Atco.. Its sad to see something driven by hate ruin the import scene even further than it already is..

Trust of the matter is there is new sanction running a few races down here called Nscra and they have Myself, Buschur, Tony Palo, GM Corporate racers all being setup for GRUDGE RACING so we can better the sport and bring the fans what they want to see.. We had a race here 2 weeks ago that brought more people to South Florida than ANY NOPI RACE i attended last season and it was just a local Event here in FL.. I think the cowards behind this 2nd race on the same day should rethink what they are trying to do and look more towards bettering the community..

Yes they are cowards because out of 3 dozen weekends they purposely picked the shootout weekend. Trust me I have been planning to take the lane this year against Turbotrix, AMS, Buschur, Dogbox and anyone else that is a top runner in the last years and now what do we have?? a diluted field of cars and grudge races that wont happen now..

I have to say it takes a man to step up and say what you did. I have never been to the shop but hope to meet you this weekend.
Also. THe inport world needs more races. With the right help the other race weekend can grow and give people more then one race weekend to look farward to.

Mike,

If you really want to line up with the "top runners" then you should come to the E-town event. All the "cowards" will be putting up $500 a car to race. Will you be driving your car or watching it go down the track from the stands?

Yet again this thread is turning into a pissing match... utterly rediculous. I love the evo but I can't stand all the one uppers in the damn community... This forum is just a catalyst for nutswingers and haters...

Very commendable post David! I hope your soul searching has found you to be in a better place!

I really hope that people understand that diluting the field of cars, as they are, and/or trying to **** you over isn't worth the energy involved nor will it ever be. It's amazing that people actually go out of their way to do this, but there are always a couple in the crowd sadly. I would never wish badly on someone (ok maybe my ex-wife ) but I really hope the other event fails miserably… For the mere fact that their intents are construed, negative, and appalling for adults to act such a way. Why couldn't they have it on another day... hell, I would probably even go! At the end of the day, when their race is over and their shot at trying to **** you over has expired, I wonder how they feel about themselves? I wonder if they will feel bigger about themselves? For some reason I doubt it... It's a damn shame to see "adults" pull stunts like this.

Keep making the wise decisions, keep making great parts, and I'll see you and the Buschur crew at BOTH of your events this year!

How do you know that "the people" were not calling for another event? Or the top tuners were not??

I think the best bet is to wait and see who shows up to what event...in support of it...

I just sold my 1G that I raced for the last 10 years. I ran in NHRA, IDRC, IMSTAR, NIRA, ISS, etc. That car was good to me and I won a lot of events with it. I am now focusing my energy on our "sardine" can that is probably not much lighter then your street car. Safety equipment sure is heavy.

I am a victim of learning the hardway with David.. I just hope one day that he learns from these mishaps, and understands in the end $$ is money no matter what part you chose for whatever reason and until thats fixed it will be the same to me..

WOW. well here is my take on it

last year was my 1st time ever going to the DMS/EVO shootout. i drove by myself from N.J. to Ohio in my Evo. i went there knowing no one. i got a room with 2 people i never met before in my life. LILrico and John from JESTR tuning. i must say turning the final corner at the hotel about to meet these guys had me a bit nervous. long story short it was the best left handed turn i ever made in my car. the second i got out i had made 2 new friends. GREAT friends. yea we were internet friends and tuning friends but we wanted to put faces and personalities to who we was talking to. we all shared a room for 3 days at the best western. i must say it felt like we all where brothers. it was that 1st night i said this is gonna be a fantastic weekend.

we then went to buschurs shop for the dyno day. im not going to lie here but i felt a bit nervous going to his shop to meet the man ''David'' who i here so much about. good and the bad. yes he has trash talked parts i use. yes he comes off as a dush sometimes and yes he tells it how he feels. i did not want to say hello to the guy at all. but then when he asked me for me to get my car to be put on the dyno he also asked whats is your name. my exact words where daniel and on evoM my name is evodan2004. Davids exact words where. o so your evodan....he then went to shake my hand and said its good to finally put a face to your name and nice to meet you.....

me being a person who has parts David dislikes and not having major BR parts on my car told me something. this man just greeted me as a person with a smile. not cause he had to ''cause i damn well know from his internet personality he wont do that'' but because it was a who cares who you are lets all have a great time this weekend. i dont know if David really meant what he said to me as it made me feel kinda good inside ''like important'' or that he liked me or if it was just because he was in a good mood. and to be honest i dont care. it gave me a much better outlook on him then what i read on the internet.

as for the shootout out when we all left from dinner it was hard to say good buy. i had met so many people and made some really cool friends there as well. even from people i thought i would never talk to or like i ended up liking and talk to. the shootout is a place where everyone can come together and just get along. its like the air in Ohio is injected with get along fumes or something. its a totally warm welcome place to be.

anyways when i came home i had told john and lilrico that it was a great weekend and thanks for everything. then i had asked if we all wanted to do the same arrangements the next year. THIS IS NOT EVEN 24HOURS AFTER WE GOT HOME we all said YES in a heart beat.

i then went to work and took off for 2 weeks from my vaca time. planned to go to Ohio on the 14th again and come home on the 18th. then go to FL 18th to the 24th. it was all setup around the shootout. again ill be driving alone to ohio in my evo and back home. instead of a 9 hour drive this year it might be a 6 hour dive due to me knowing how much fun im going to have and not being able to wait to see my friends again that i made last year.

i also live about 45 min from E town and saw they where gonna have an event on the same day. my opinion on that is STUPID.

imo it should be done maybe before or after the ohio event. that way maybe David him self and the br crew/cars can go and race. that way the hole evo community can go instead of having to decide who is going where. IMO most will go to Ohio anyway. i know i am.

if the event happened before the shootout in Ohio everyone can get there races on and what not and then come to Ohio for a rematch or whatever it may be. or the other way around. race at ohio and whatever grudges that where not settled or a rematch is called out take care of it at the Etown event.

David thanks for holding the event and not changing the dates. i already spent 3k+ on my vaca and can not reset the dates. thanks for holding a great event where EVERYONE can come and have a great time. and thanks for making me feel welcome to your shop, your town, and your event.

IMO the shootout did not start and become what it is today from the Buschur racing name. it is what it is today because of the love of the sport, the community, and everyone going to a place to meet new people, and see what else is on the market, and to watch the races and all the **** talk and call outs through the year get settled at one place.

i have left a lot out of this post but that gets my feelings and point across just fine. sorry for the long post
