Ive been doing that since I put it in the car. I've never used it to control boost, just as a gauge.

I've been running this gauge as just a boost gauge also in my car. You just have to turn the A and B settings to off and then the gauge will just display boost for ya. The solenoid wasn't installed on my car when the guage was put in.

Is it a pretty good gauge? I've been wanting to get one to match my Uego gauge.

it might even work with the solenoid still in there. Try it, i forgot what exactly it was called but in the manual its clearly stated there how to turn something off so it will just display boost.

ill have to look that up in the manual, i know it can display boost, but im just worried about running the ecucontrol boost and the aem solenoid might mess with it.

If you are going to unhook the AEM wastegate solenoid, what are you going to use to control the wastegate?

Did you mean, to use the gauge as just a boost guage? Because if you unhook the solenoid obviously you can't control boost with it.

The stock boost(wastegate) solenoid will not control boost well after a certain boost level. You need some type of aftermarket solenoid to control boost using an ECU.

I use the truboost as a gauge only. Great gauge, love the peak hold feature. I also use the truboost solenoid but have it in place of the factory solenoid with the help of a 1w10ohm resistor (Custom tuning required).
