Hi, folks.

I'm a noob from "that" Subaru chat board, with a couple of questions for the EVO VIII and IX crew.

1) On stock internals, what's the averge WHP you guys are getting before things go "boom?"

2) Who has the quickest EVO 8 or 9 with stock engine and tranny, and ACTUALLY races the 1/4 mile regularly?

Finally, I used to hate on teh EVOs, but as I get older, it's all about fun for me. I could never see myself with NO Subaru in the stable, but I might one day see myself picking an EVO VIII up for ****s and giggles.

What should a noob look for/watch-out for as far as getting the most for his $? I don't mean buying modded vs. unmodded (I usually hunt for unmodded cars, as virgins are always sexier). I mean, certain build dates, etc. that may have more issues than others.

I appreciate any help that might sway me to "the dark side."

This can all be found by searching but I am feeling nice. It seems that the magic number is 500 whp. That's when things start getting iffy.
