SES light came on
Well, last night I was driving home, and my SES light came on... I finished driving home, parked the car for the night, and today I went out to inspect the car. I checked all the hoses/clamps made sure they were tight, and everything was fine... There is no sound of a leak or anything like that either so I'm very confused as to why the SES light came on... The best thing I can think of is that it's because I gutted my cat... But, why would the SES light come on 500 mile's after I did that?

Have the code pulled at Autozone for free.
My guess would be the CAT, but that does seem odd after 500 miles without it. It could depend on what type of driving you do. I know in my old WRX if I was driving around town or just on short trips hear and there I would never get CAT CEL, but as soon as I would get on the freeway and cruise at a steady pace it would throw one every time.
I think on some cars there are only certain driving conditions when the ECU goes through some of its checks, not 100% sure though. If it turns out its the CAT inefficency code a few different companies make a CEL eliminator kit, do a search. Easy fix.
Good Luck.

Did you make sure your gas cap was screwed on all the way?
I know it sounds ridiculous, but you'd be amazed how many people have the SES light come on and it's only the damn cap.
