Evo Withdrawal
I put my Evo in the body shop last week on Monday. I was hit in bumper-to-bumper traffic Labor Day weekend and pushed into a trailer hitch. I need a new front and rear fascia plus the body was crumpled under the trunk.
I left something in the car so I went to the shop today to retrieve it. They are still working on the back and the front hasn't been touched yet. It will be at least a week before I slide behind the wheel and sit in my Recaro seat.
I am going through some serious withdrawal here. I am driving around in the world class $20-a-day Toyota Tercel from Enterprise. And I saw my first STi in the wild. It wasn't even worth trying to get the driver's attention. Woe is me.
I don't have any complaints about the shop, Gold Coast Autobody. They are good guys (at least they are to me) and they treated me right in May when I needed a new CF wing. They repair all the BMW's and Benz's that get damaged on the north side of Chicago. Another cool thing is that it's all paid for by the insurance company of the jackass who hit me. Hasn't cost me a dime, not even for the rental.
I just miss my Evo sooo bad. And I have a road trip to Ann Arbor this weekend. Maybe I can get the Toyota up to 80mph if I find a long enough straight...

If its any consolation, My clutch broke at the track two weeks after delivery 400kms from my home or my garage. Towing it would cost a bomb so i had to leave it at some unfamilar workshop that hadnt even seen an EVO 8 YET!!!! 2 weeks of withdrawal of not being able to drive your new car... and sad that your new car "broke". Answering questions from your mates about "where's your new car?" really hurts...
