Didn't mean to confuse you or make it complicated by any means. Just saying that going fast doesn't have to be pricey. Of course you can always spend more and get more, and of course as things progress you start to get closer to the point of diminishing returns.. As for an Import car running 8s. I guess the closest and cheapest would be about $40gs for something like a drag civic. Big Turbo, lots of NOS and a rebuild every so often.
All of this is not street legal, but most tuning does that on step one - losing the catalytic converter.

$40,000 for a civic to go 8's? That isn't the best solution! Come on! haha. You are on an EVO forum for God's sake, atleast name something with a 4g63 in it!
We have a 1988 Chrysler Conquest, built as a street car. It is street legal (not emmission legal), has carpet, power windows, two seats, carpet, turn signals, brake lights, parking lights, headlights, functional sunroof, you get the idea, street legal. Current registration and license plates and all. The car runs a 46g3 (just like our EVO's), an automatic transmission and one of the internally gated turbos that we are going to be offering with our EVO turbo kit. The car has run a best of 8.7 at 151 mph. This was done for ALOT less than $40,000.
