Question Evo Now or Later

Should I get a Evo now or later? because i like the evo very much plus my favorite number is 8. but i don't have that kind of money now. I just got myself a 90 Eclipse GSX. thats what i call a semi evo for now. if i plan to get is later i would have the money by den. going to major in X-ray Tec and i would be making $40-100k a year. That would be with in 3 years or so. plus by den Evo 9 or 10 might come out. so what you guys should say? as for the Eclipse i need a car to get me from point A to point B. Me and the family have been fighting to drive one car.

What, you want to park it in your den? Mine won't fit there. My den is way to small. I bet it would look nice in yo' garage do' !

If you can afford a new one, get it. Don't wait.

Personally I would wait about 1-2 years. All the evo can do is get better and those like buschur AMS and proven will have awesome turbo kits more readily available by then.

This market is going to be so huge and this car will be so fast it will make you're head spin. ill wait just a bit longer

I would say that you should only get one if you can truely afford it. Owning a GSX can be a lot of fun. I have had two different 1990 GSX's. The aftermarket support for those cars is awesome and learning the ins and outs of them will only benifit you when it comes time to start tuning an Evo.

Don't overextend your budget for the car of your dreams only to watch it get repo'ed a few months down the road.

Wait on the EVO. There's way better aftermarket support for the Eclipse. I won't buy one until a real ecu tuning option surfaces (and of course, until I can afford one). Plus, the Eclipse looks a lot better IMO. Otherwise pretty much the same engine/drivetrain.

One of the guys on the DSMLink forum just went 12.5 in a 2g with the stock 14b turbo off your car. That's with the crappy 2g head, too.

Yeah, well I guess that will be proven on the dyno (just like the "600 hp" VR4).

if you realy want it now there is no way you are going to let that stop you, there must be a way, are you working now, if not wait till you get a job, or get a part time job too pay for it, or try the EVO foundation of MIT , by the time people figger it out you will have your car, just kiddin, but good luck

oh yea get evo because you might just spend the same amount of money every month just to keep the eclipse running, that thing is 14 year old, thats a big chance that i will not take

Definitely going to wait a bit. don't really need a huge note on a project car, that's all it would be for me. I drive my dsm maybe 2-3 times a month if that. I dont see a EVO getting much more wheel time.
