front windshield?
looking for cost of a new front windshield. anyone ever had one replaced? a rock hit mine on the freeway the other day. it started as just a little spot on the left side of the windshield and its slowly spread; it's now about half way across the windshield.

in the same situation myself...mine started out so small!!! but a few days sitting in the cold it spread almost all the way across lol.
i have seen people get them from 2-300 dollars. Have you been in contact with your insurance company yet?

I have had mine repaired 4 times now but never replaced. The key is to catch it before it starts spreading. They drill it out and fill it. This won't help you know but for the future it might.
Also I have heard to replace it with windshield from a regular lancer. It weighs a little more but is less lightly to chip and crack so easily.

I just had mine replaced for FREE!!! I went through my insurance company and then the glass company waved my deductible. It would have cost me more to get a rock chip repaired than a new windshield.

FYI I dont think dealerships replace windsheilds they usually outsource them, so some glass company usually comes in and does it, I would check before you pay more thinking they do and its just an outside company that you could have contacted in the first place

There's a 3lb. gain going to the standard aftermarket lancer windshield, and a cost savings of around $300 or more by not buying a factory one. Had to have mine replaced after a cross country drive and numerous semi-trucks tossing rocks.
