TBE ebay

Hello guys and gals... I need some advice i was looking in ebay and seems they have a lot of TBE and manifold ... has anyone had any good experience buying from vendors in ebay? sounds like i can get a TBE with test pipe and downpipe for like 150.....and a manifold for 65 ...sounds kinda cheap and i dont want to regret it later so im asking the experienced and wise people here.

...to pu it inperspective...I payed 1,150.00 for a FULL Exhaust. Honestly do you feel comfortable paying 150.00 for a "TBE". Your exhaust manifold is fine unless you have a different turbo set-up.
Not saying E-Bay dosent have deals... but thats ridiculous.

Well I would atay away from the manifold as the stocker is just fine and if you want some bling just get the JMF heatshield as far as the exhaust I think it is around 220 shipped and it fits well and works great with no problems, If you wan't to pay 1,200 for 3 inch pipe then go ahead and buy it from me and I will slap what ever name you wan't on it and charge 1,200

Ams or buschur quality is going to be better and the stainless is going to be better etc but I highly doubt you will see much of a hp diff between the 2
Think of it this way you can replace the e-bay exhaust 5 times for the price of a big name shop exhaust.

There are only a few things I would actually buy from e-bay, Fmic, 3in tbe and aluminum radiator anything other than that I would steer clear of.

I am sure I will get flamed for saying this but it is usally the people that spent 1,200 on a 3in exhaust that are all butthurt over it

+1

Not saying that buying on eBay isnt a bad idea because it hurts shops that take the time to develop their exhausts. But 3" pipe is 3' pipe as far as your exhaust is concerned. So I dont think it's going to matter how pretty it is when it's sitting under your car.

And it is true most people that knock it are the people that paid over $1k for their exhausts.

Hmmm i paid 1000+ im happy.. no regrets. Why wouldnt anyone be. A product that is tested and all importantly fits the vehicle. Has the proper hangers and sensors if needed. 90% of us I gurantee bought an expensive exhaust system for the simple fact it works, fits and reliability.
150 is not a large sum of cash but when it goes toward taking up space in your garage cause that last bolt wont fit, is a pain.

Bought my Esplir GTC 500 Series TBE from the local for sale forums for $300 and was lightly used. Even came bunged for a wide band 02. The deals are out there, you just have to find them. Also, I kind of have to disagree with the statement 3" piping is just 3" piping.. It all comes down to how many bends, and how much of an angle these bends are made at. It affects the volumetric efficiency of the piping itself.. so a 3" pipe is not just a 3" pipe, unless it's completely straight.. in which this case, it isn't.
