This is what i have.

It does block the vent off somewhat, but its easy to reach, and you can easily see for navigation. Quick grab...etc If you can live with it blocking your vent, its well worth the $

the custom made one seems a really good idea. i am sure there are a lot of places that it could be mounted on the evo.

Maybe I skipped over the part that explained it, but since the iPhone is a phone why not just put it in your pocket?? Not trying to bust up the flow of this thread or anything I'm just really curious? If people are worried about putting their phones in the cup holder I think a pocket works pretty well.

I don't have an iPhone, I have a Fuze so maybe that's why I dont get it.

I purchased an MMP#/iPod deck that works with the iPHone so I will be using it as my main source of music so having it in my pocket wouldn't work....
Smart ***. :P LOL

Im in this boat as well. I use it as a GPS/ipod constantly. I am going to use an existing holder for iphones/itouch and attach it to another existing arm/dock and mount them together. I am going to fashion it to the dash. I don't mind cutting a lil, but I want a clean look as well. I will post post pics soon. I have seen similar pieces being constructed from billet to plastic and it seems to be the easiest route. And with a lil bit of ingenuity you can mate just about any of the two together that suits your needs. GL to everyone

fm transmitter wire tucked (kind of hanging until you plug in your phone) just plug and play easy to reach and it looks "oem" to me
