How tall are you? I weight like 220 and i need to lose weight.
Any new times yet Indy? Or any track days set up how is the tune coming along?

I thought I would share the reason that I've been optomistic about our recent runs and why the slightest changes are important. The following image shows idential ET runs, the one on the left is from 5/12 the one on the right is from 6/05. Both were 12.02 with the early run at 113.35, the latter was actually at 112.52. The winds were 0 and no direction on the left (early run). On the latter run, the winds were out of the WNW at 1-5 mph (into the front of the car). The early run was made at 63.9 F, the latter run was at 76.6 F. Humidity was 18 early, 15 latter. Barometric early was 29.42 (better), latter was 29.24. I've given all of this to show how easy it is to actually be improving in performance, but due to atmospheric conditions, it won't show on the time slip. Pay attention to those details and take away what you can from each time at the track. The early run was very similar tune as the latter run, with exception of some Mivec changes and timing. Boost was still targeted at 26.5 psi.
You can also see that the early run 'corrected' to an 11.91 whereas the latter run corrects to an 11.82. Yes, these corrctions are identical to the corrections on dyno charts. As a matter of fact, this is why correction is necessary to accurately compare one dyno pull to another. I've seen dyno pulls advertising huge numbers that were actually made at nearly 600' BELOW sealevel, while others were made at 5000' ABOVE sealevel. NO WAY to compare them, even from similar dynos, without an accurate correction factor using weather conditions. Sorry for the poor image, but the alt-printscreen didn't get a very good shot.
Notice that the early run shows that Indy did a better job of driving, traction, and creating the 'used' horsepower, than the second run. 97.2% effective hp vs 94.98

After five weeks off to update 9sec9’s car to NHRA 8.5 spec, we are about finished and ready to get back at it with our 11 second project. The best time run to date has been a 12.015@112.34 still with only two engine mods and a tune at 3450-3470 lbs.
The Quarter Master 7.25 clutch was installed yesterday by Ray Skillman Mitsubishi West here in Indy. They handled the install with zero issues and are a mod friendly dealer, with both an excellent service and parts department. You can contact Robin the service manager or Lester in parts at 317-293-8060.
We will be back to the track for a new baseline with the clutch, and then straight to tire testing for a major manufacturer. All I can say for now is that it is a drag radial made in Indiana and it is built to a 245/45/17 size suggested by 9sec9, and will be developed with input from the both of us. They will not be available to the public for at least two months as we are just starting development in a few weeks. 9sec9 and I have secured the first production run of these tires and will release pricing and availability after development is complete. Thanks for all of the hard work Indy. Between you and Norm's efforts, the car is undoubtably going to be the finest workmanship and design ever used on an Evo. Back to your car, I'm anxious to see you back at the track and having fun. It seems that our project has become a tire testing/comparison for some of the BIG boys and that REALLY excites me.
I just completed a 91 octane tune for relatively local Evo. Boost was at 27 max, but turned down to 24.3 for street driving, although I did tune it with 0 knock at 27 psi peak, holding 23+ by 7400+. No meth, just 91. The owner seems to think it's pulling like a raped ape, so he's happy and going to the track tonight to test the tune. More to come. I'm also completing a T67/91 oct with h20/meth. Nearly complete with about 26 psi. We have been busy in many directions, not much fun.

OKC area.
Bsmart82, Indy's idea of not having any results until my car was finished and delivered didn't last too long. He's at the track right now, getting used to the new clutch. He MAY make a pass or 2 at full tilt, but it depends upon the condition of the track. He put his stock HARD tires and original wheels back on the car just to keep the pressure of better traction off of the new clutch. I'm waiting for results right now.
As for one of the cars I tuned on 91 octane, last night on it's first passes at 23 psi of peak boost, he went 12.71@107.x , 12.71@108.x and 12.6@109.2. The fuel he added just before going must have been nearly 89 octane. In the heat of the day with boost at 26, he had NO knock. At the track, 23 psi peak and cooler temps, he picked up some knock in 4th gear. My wife and I drove 120 miles just to be there when he ran, so I was called into duty to touch up the tune. That's when the mph came up and the knock went away. Each shift was .500-.600 seconds, so the car has at least a solid 12.4 in it. With a great launch, maybe even a 12.2 or so with probably a 112-113 mph. Sorry for the OT Indy, but I'm bored, waiting for results.

Sorry for the back to back posts, but, I asked Indy to change the tires and wheels so we could get a true back to back on the clutch change only vs his old one. One variable is better than 2. He's on his way home to change the tires/wheels and will go back to the track in an hour or so. He's also out there with his Dad in town. Hi Kit! Welcome to Indianapolis. Indy hasn't seen him in over a year, so it's a great Father and Son reunion. I think Kit is 80+, so it's great to see Father and Son having fun together and still enjoying racing at 80!
