Two guys, two mods, and a tune... in the 11's
9sec9 and I have been working on getting the most out of the least with my 06RS. The best it ran with just a tune was 12.86@104. We could have run it longer at that level, but we were happy with the result and felt it was time to move on..
Tonight we only got a couple of runs, and with just a Hallman MBC, Buschur filter, and a 9sec9 tune we went downtown in a big way 12.223@111.32. This is still a stock RS, no weight reduction, no exhaust, just the two engine mods and a tune. I threw away the money shot run and still managed to run a 12.87@108.34 missing second with a 1.658 60 ft. The DA for tonight was 1914 ft.
We are shooting for high 11's and know with a good run we will be there. Thanks 9sec9 you said I'd run a .20 or better and there it was. Fathouse made some killer runs also, but I'll let him post those. I know 9sec9 will be reviewing the logs later to see if we can find more power since we run tomorrow and Sunday. Stay tuned Indy

Thanks Jeremy you threw down some big numbers too .
I'll let 9sec9 post the details, to be honest I have no idea . I'm sure he will post up later when he gets to the hotel. I was just trying to drive and let him make the decisions and adjustments.

I just got to the hotel after dropping off the OKIX car. The logs showed 25.2 psi, but the tune was built for 26.5 psi. If we had been able to get another run or two, we would have increased the boost to the 26.5 and made a few runs, but the track never shows the same boost as the street logs. The tune was on 93 octane, 26.5 psi with no knock counts in any gear. We made several street pulls from 2500 to 8000, then turned it up another 1.5 psi and made a drag pull (1-4th) and the boost was only 26.3. I was driving back from Buschur Racing in Ohio, so I asked Jim to add a gallon or so of 98 octane, since I wouldn't be there to keep an eye on knock. As it turned out, we had 0 knock, so I upped the tune a bit after I got there and Jim went immediately from 12.56@ 109.77 to 12.22@111.32. The car is definitely capable of going 11.9x with just a 93-95 octane tune, mbc and air filter only. Next we'll work on any air/exhaust restrictions and see what we can get out of it. Good job of driving tonight Indy. The car was very smooth on your launches, with never a hint of hop. See you tomorrow.

^ Wait till tonight. 9sec9 is coming by today and we will be working on the tune and what I have to do to get into the 11's. Total cost for engine mods to run 12.20's, around 125.00 .

Back at the hotel again. Rain!!!! , but not before getting the RACE tune completed. I'm fairly confident that we picked up another 10-15 horsepower, but results will have to wait until Sunday. Boost is now set to 26.3 peak with new 2 byte loads hitting 300+ at peak. A minor change in the Mivec map picked up about .5 psi at 7000 based on the log comparisons. Not much more to do with the 93+ octane and current parts. Thought I would share a little of the atmospheric conditions (Low, low barometric last night) and how the run 'evaluates'. Also, much to Jim's objections, I shot a picture of the engine bay to show the new Afro-filter and boost controller. You can see how Jim feels about the results.
