Prosport Boost gauge is reading 24psi?

So I took out my triple pod a few months ago. Before I had stewart warner gauges in there. Before I took them out my stewart warner was reading around 20psi. I turned it down before I removed all the gauge just to be on the safe side. Well today I finished getting the Prosport boost gauge installed, I went for a ride and it was reading at least 24psi. I let off when I saw it go that high.

I havnt changed anything on the car since I removed the stewart warner gauges. The only thing I can think of is that my downpipe leaks at the o2 housing and there is a crack in my manifold right now. You guys think this could cause such a high spike?

Well they seem to be prety popular on here so I thought I would give them a shot. I could never spend the money for those damn overrated defi gauges. The prices are just insane!!

I calibrate instrumentation for a living and I've checked my Prosport Gauge against a Standard Gauge in the shop and it was "***** On".

Yeah mine is pretty accurate as well.

Do you have the electric or mechanical gauge?

All the cars I've seen dyno'd with Prosport gauges have read accurately; more accurate than my Defi.

My defi boost gauge reads about 1.5-2 lbs high.

A 4 psi variance seems high if nothing else on your car changed. If it's not a hassle, throw the old gauge on there and see what it reads.

You can't count on boost gauges for a true accurate reading. They are usually off by some, doesn't matter what brand. My SW gauge is usually +2 psi when compared with my MAP sensor (which I trust much more than the gauge).

Thank you for doing this

I cant stress enough here at prosport that we sell top notch products. We use the latest Swiss stepper motor movements and air core movements. I giggle when i see ppl writing "oh prosport gauges are junk" when in fact there are so many variables involved.

For example, joe blow installs our gauge. The gauge shows 13psi when HE says it should be 15. Take into consideration humidity, elevation, IAT, EGT, speed, RPMS....All these effect your boost levels.

IF ANYONE has any questions please, call us.

Just cause you're tuned for 28 psi doesn't mean your car will always be at 28psi. As previously mentioned there are many variables involved and you can't assume the gauge is inaccurate without using the proper instruments to prove your assumption.
