Sweet LED mod I did to my truck, that I want to do to my Evo...

I used PNP transistors to check the door switches in my truck to look for a signal to turn an LED strip on or off. Should be able to do this to the Evo, but on all 4 doors, instead of just 2. You guys ever seen anything like this on an evo before?

I need to know how the door switches work.. are they normally closed, open or what?

Video link:

And now, the how its done type pics...

Switches are open, once the door is open its a closed circuit. The door switches work on a ground. Careful as you may get the issue with the keyless entry that I told you about.

I thought you were MIA?

did you try this with transistors or just wiring it directly to the door.

We never talked about this mod: You might have me confused with someone else.

What is the issue with the keyless?

If you were living here the cops would rip that s#!@ out lol. They can't stand to see any sort of neon lights. It's bad enough everyone is driving POS cars with HIDs or yellow foggies.

They are LED strips. You can have any color or light you want to when your car is parked, and if I'm opening up my doors they turn on. I won't be driving around opening my doors so it is perfectly legal. I can turn my grille lighting on/off from the cab with a button.

A tad over-the-top, but interesting and cool too. I think something a little subtler would be very marketable.

I will use RED in the car, because I have red ambient floor lighting already. Plus my cluster has been converted to RED LEDs.

I used blue in my truck because everything in my truck is already converted to blue LEDs.. See:

Here is how the car is set up already.
