Remove Seat Belts to Paint, needed?

I'm trying to get my B Pillar off in order to upholster it.

Do I need to remove the seatbelt?

If so, when I take it off how do I get the piece that clicks in order to slide it apart from the B pillar?

Thanks I searched... seems to be some confusion on it.

yes you have to remove the seatbelt. your other question doesnt seem to make sense... all you have to do is remove the lower black part then unbolt the seatbelt

Good question, I was thinking you can cover the belt and paint the piece, but after a few uses the paint will come off from rubbing, so maybe after painting the piece you can apply some black vynil to where it rubs/slides against the belt, maybe it will last longer
Other than that, I don't think there is a way to take that off without damaging or compromising the seat belts
