Read this thread if you ever feel like you want to sell your Evo: How to NOT do it!

I would steer clear of an S2000 especially if it's your daily driver. I've gotten completely sick of mine. There's no where to even conveniently place your cell phone not to mention the anemic power band. I'm tired of having to Rev to eternity in order to get moving and at the same time sound like I'm redlining to the average person while driving around town.
Sure it's extremely fun but it has it's good days and bad days. Top down cruising is as good as it gets but there are other times where the car is just tiring to drive. I've seen a lot of people buy S2000's based on a thrilling test drive but regret it later because the car is rather hard to live with which is why many reserve them to garage queen/weekend duty.
Also I'm pretty scared of mine when it comes to cornering hard. I've had the rear end come out a few times and it's REALLY hard to react in time with the wheel.
I think an Evo is an all around much much better car although it's hard to compare them. And mod ability besides gears S2000's are a waste to invest in excluding FI.

My boss just got a acura tl sh-awd with tech package. I took it for a ride I really liked it. I parked it next to my evo. without out a doubt evo looks better. When i drove home I thought about all the gadgets and plushness of his car and looked at my evo...
a few pedals a wheel a 5spd a radio and pwr windows. I was missing his TL. most likely going to keep evo 4 life. Pay this one off buy another one.

i came from mustang....i had a 90 fox ....s-trim supercharger, i had a 98 cobra with a novi 2000 supercharger, ive had a 94 cobra, and now i have a 90 fox again with a built 306 from crank to intake.
im so into them, love the sound, power, the growl.....thats why im missing them when all i hear is my 4cyl
dont get me wrong my evo put down 381 awhp / 375 trq....and the car is a rocket....but when i pass my dream car ( 03-04 cobra) i feel like getting out of the evo and walking home
i actully traded my evo in for a 03 cobra with 30k miles on it last summer....had the cobra for a day and brought it back because the head was ticking. Got my evo back in 5 hours of owning the cobra haha
but still dying for an 03 cobra, there ridiculous easy to make fast, sound like an airplane at WOT and scream at the track.
theres something about the look of the 03 that gets me everytime.....and cmon....the sound of an 03-04 cobra will make anyone get chills....compared to a 4cyl.
idk what to do...im on the chopping block because i love my evo....but cobras, and mustangs are in my blood.

The thought has crossed my mind too but a buddy of mine had a 95 Cobra that I drove more than a few times. Just thinking of the interior (especially the steering wheel) puts any thoughts of trading out of my mind.

To the OP why didn't you get the 335i?
Only thing I dislike about the 335i is the faulty HFFP I keep reading on e90. That's a big no no I need to have faith in my car and it won't just die on me when I want to start up and go.
I've driven a 335i (susan komen cure event) and S5(audi track event) and love how both cars have low end torque just be in high gear and love how it doesn't raise a flag to everyone. The interior is definitely acceptable for a DD and better than my evo.
I'm have had moments where I want to get rid of the evo.
Mainly it's a garage queen and I just drive it to work 2 times a week since I carpool. I bath it and detail it myself using following the meguiars 5 step process. People constantly approach me and give compliments on how clean the car is and love the color.
I hate shifting at 3K since anything above that is just way to loud in socal local streets and gets attention quick. I pick my moments where I can let the boost kick in and wind the gear out safely but those moments are rare.
I also dislike on how I have to pamper the evo on warm ups. I start the car and drive right away and wait for the tranny/oil to warm up. I don't go by coolant temp indicator in the instrument cluster. I hate being tailgated and getting passed left and right while letting the evo warm up in the morning commute. Just doesn't have low end tq in the lower revs.
I don't take it anywhere for the fear of getting pulled over or getting vandalized by a hater. I have a $100 deductible for comprehensive coverage and yet I don't take it out anywhere fun during the weekends.
Only to and from work with my carpooler 2 or 3 times a week and for those special occasion car club events or MOD. Speaking of commuting the evo requires alot of attention when driving since the quick steering response makes you on edge constantly takes a toll especially on lengthy daily commutes at fwy speeds.
Main reasons I keep telling myself to hang on to it
1) it's my 1st car that I purchased brand new and it's been all me since day 1. It's special in that sense.
2) ~ 1 more year worth of 0% interest payments(got the 0% deal in 05) and it's paid off
3) southcoast mitsu lifetime oil changes at 3500miles it really saves on the maintenance costs
4) wealth of info for the evo online/forums. I already know which tires, brakes, and fluids to buy when it's time to replace.
5) I like the looks of the car and how it's exclusively in the fact I hardly see one when I'm driving around unlike the countless Gs, 3series, TLs, etc.
It's a constant battle and as I'm getting mature I tend to want things like power adjustable seats, cruise control, built in nav and blue tooth, low end torque where I can goose the throttle and I can maneuver and not make it sound like I'm doing 1/4 mile run.
The stress of not being to enjoy the car or taking it out when I hang out on weekends just blows. I've put up with this routine for 4 years already and initially thought I'd keep the evo for only 2 years only but I've become attached to it.
I have had dreams to build the evo to a bad beast for the track/autox but then again one fateful encounter with "the man" it's game over and have to swap back to stock. Mostly likely I'll keep it the way it is and just get some seat time.
I'm sick of car payments and can't wait for the evo to be paid off.
But then again I love to drive different cars at driving events.
I'm thinking my next car will be a sport luxury brand. My focus priority will be on interior and daily driver amenities, broad power band meaning I can hit the gas pedal in high gear low rev situation and still maneuver with no problems. It has to be able to fly under the radar and not turn heads. Most likely a lease for 36 months.

I was in the same boat as the op but the evo is a rare car in my mind. To every one evo there's like ten bmw's you see on the streets, I may not see another evo for days at a time.

You have a IX SE. According to most people here, that's the most desirable Evo that came to the US. I don't see why you'd have any trouble doing a heads-up trade for an 03-04 Cobra. Exact same price range and there are a lot more Mustangs than Evos.
The thought has crossed my mind too but a buddy of mine had a 95 Cobra that I drove more than a few times. Just thinking of the interior (especially the steering wheel) puts any thoughts of trading out of my mind.
