EVO vs 350Z vs Cobra Motortrend Article
Just thought I would share. Now Motortrend is showing 0-60 in 4.6 seconds. Last month Motortrend was showing almost 1 second slower. Go figure

The 4.6 was an earlier test time (6-03 issue). They ran a 5.9 with a weakening clutch and on a hot day. There is an explaination in the article. Mitsu advertised the Evo at 5.2. I have run my car at 5.4 (I run right with a "03" clk55amc till I hit 4th, real life not theory) without much of a launch but using 98 octane fuel. Different cars, drivers, and conditions seem to affect this car quite a bit., so I have no complaints. I believe the car used for these runs is also the one R&T is using for their long term test so we shall see.

If you shift into third, you'll lose a ton in the 0-60 time. BTW, 0-60 times, 1/4-mile times, etc. are just marketing BS to compare cars. More useful info are the 5-60 (rolling start), lane change or slalom speeds, and passing times (30-50,50-70,60-80, etc.). Those reflect real-world driving more accurately. And most importantly (and often overlooked unless it's incredibly good or bad) is the braking distance (either 60-0 or 80-0). There is no such thing as "too much braking". The EBD and big brakes on the Evo have prevented 2 accidents so far for me (people coming to a dead stop on the freeway for nothing!?!?!?!!!).

This wasn't an "Evo vs. 350Z vs. Cobra" article. This was just long term reports for the three cars, plus the BMW Z4, if I remember right, which isn't showed here. The Z4 also had some problems.
Also notice that although the Evo had no problems, the cost to maintain it is the highest... Just imagine if the clutch had gone out!!
