When you first saw an Evo ___ [fill in the blank], how did it feel?

my friend bought a yellow 03 when they 1st came out... 2.3L 35r built by PRUVEN... when he pulled up to white castle (where we used to have our lot meets), i just stared at it, for the entire time i was there... he took me for a ride in it and i was hooked... i said to myself eventually i will own a car like this... Nov. 2006, i bought my 03 WW GSR... everytime i see an evo i get excited, even when im driving mine... i love the evo, and will never consider another car...

The first was at an autocross. I didn't want to like it, because I had an Impreza at the time. Through friends and by driving as an autocross instructor, I was able to try out both the STi and Evo. I loved the butchness of the STi, but the Evo hands-down out-handled it. I drove a lot of other 'sporting' cars, but very few had the same 'focus' as the Evo - maybe none.

This wasn't the first time but it was one of the most memorable..It was sometime in the mid 90's and it was an Evo III. My brother and I were behind a red Evo III and we were both behind a slow old POS.
Road freed up and Evo came out to pass, followed by us but it felt like my brother slammed our car in reverse b/c that evo was OUTTA HERE!!!

around where I am (Vancouver, BC) evo 8/9s are extremely rare. I'm talking about more rare than an LP560. So the first time I saw an evo was a WW VIII that was modded. It was on my way home and from there I just fell in love. It looked so raw and so 'tmean. Sounded badass and from there the evo had a place in my heart. Now I have a WW IX MR with 7000 miles that I'm importing from Tacoma. I can't wait to get it!

It was a glorious experience that words cannot describe. I knew I was going to get one but my friend beat me to it. He got a '05 GG MR and when I saw it I soiled myself a bit. Then he let me drive it. I soiled myself more than a bit. Fortunately, I picked up my MR less than a year after that experience. The soiling of the pants was even more significant since it was my own Evo...

I remember that day like it was yesterday. It was a hot, beautiful afternoon in Las Vegas, NV, MAR 03 . I stopped by "Courtesy" Mitsubishi to see the "legend" in person.
I was already into DSMs at the time, in fact I drove my modded '98 Talon AWD to the dealership.
As soon I got done parking in the lot, I had a sales hound ask me if I was ready to trade in that "slow" Eagle for an EVO! I just laughed at and ignored him. Straight into the show room I went and before me was a '03 Blue By You Lancer Evolution 8 GSR. My first thought was damn, that's a mean **** sedan. The hood vent and the flared fenders are what makes it look mean IMO. On my way out there was a fat dude that had just taken his new black '03 EVO in for the first oil change. He saw me looking at the EVO in the showroom and also noticed that I drove up in a DSM. He told me that he use to own a 1G Eclipse GSX, but it was never as fast or handled as well his new EVO. I said that's great. Three years later I had $20k lying around so I bought an RS to experience one myself.

I first saw my Evo when my friend showed me a picture on the internet, saying this car suits me best to my personality. 4 door AWD sports car for a family oriented guy that loves rally. My reaction was it looked absolutely sweet. Just had to lose the nose (all you VIII guys know what I'm talking about ). It was still 2003 at the time and I just lost interest in one because it was a car that I thought, would never own in my life or even drive... Until April of last year. Now, I can't get rid of it because it's one of those things that says "Dreams do come true".
