When you first saw an Evo ___ [fill in the blank], how did it feel?

I wanted an Evo for quite a while but never really looked into them. I went home on R&R to Colorado and decided I was going to buy a new car. I drove a few hours to Mitsubish and test drove a IX MR and it was a blast so I walked out two hours later with it. It wasn't until I brought it down to sea level though that it really became fun!

i first wanted an STI, then i saw the youtube best motoring video green lambo vs GG evo MR,
the lambo spun out, my eyes glisten and i said im gettin one of dem one day, sombody rear ended my RSX-S after a month of owning it, totaled it, and insurance gave me 19k, went to mitsu planning to buy a GG EVO MR, and saw the wicked white IX MR call my name. drove it home and was the happiest guy that day.

Feeling when I first test drove a used 2003:
"This is boring; no where near as fast as I thought it would be. Wow, I really hate body roll!"
When I first saw my IX as I was pulling up to the seller's house:
"Damn, thats a sexy car. I sure hope I'm not making a mistake selling my S2000 for this!"
Its a good thing Evo's are so moddable and personalizable

The fist time i saw an evo was in super street in 2000 or 2001 when they did an article comparing the new evo 7 to the old evo 6. At the time i was like wow that is sexy! i remember all the craze when Mitsubishi kept teasing us north americans in late 2001 early 2002 with the possible release of the evo7 state side. I remember telling myself as soon as it comes out im getting one. After months of anticipation mitsu confirmed that they will not be bringing the 7 state side, and man was i dissapointed.
Then about 6 months later rumors were spreading about the all new evo 8 and the possibility of that one coming state side instead, but i figures it was just mitsu giving us bs again. Then it was confirmed that it would be released spring of 2003 state side. I remember seeing pics of the 8 in all the car mags and i knew that even though i would never get to own a 7 that i will have an 8.
It was right after my second year of college in early may( i think it was may 11th) of 03 that i went to my local mitsu dealer and saw a rally red 8 in the show room for the first time. i was in love. The dealer would not let me test drive the evo, but i did convince the salesman to turn the car on and give it a rev. I right after went to my bank and came back with a deposit. The next day i was getting the training video that mitsu gave about the evo and left that night with that exact rally red 8 and training certificate in hand. Wow i cant believe ive had my evo for over 6 years now.

i remember seeing the evo 4, 5, and 6 at about the same time and was just impressed beyond belief. i couldn't believe a car could be made any better. upon the release of the 7 i was certain the wild evo 6 (i loved the TME) was the epitome of greatest in four wheeled form. i always told myself i would purchase and import one to the states, until my eyes came upon the evo 8 GSR. this has been my dream car since that moment, because although i adore the 9 and x, NOTHING has made my heart dance like the 8. i am reminded every second i see or sit in my evo 8.

I miss it terribly. If I didn't live in Minnesota and wanted just 1 car to use the entire year I would have never gotten rid of the S2k. I actually hope to get another one within a few years once my fiancee and I are settled in a new house and have garage space for a 3rd car.

When I first saw an evo on the streets I was crusin in my old toyota camry thinkin I was cool till this 03 red gsr looked at me laughed then boosted into outer space. From that point i knew that I had to have one. five years after seeing my first one I finally bought my own in 07 and since then I have had trouble getting this perma-grin off my face every time I look at her.
