When you first saw an Evo ___ [fill in the blank], how did it feel?

Exact same situation for me, except I also wanted to see what the 350Z had to offer. I never test drove the Z, and already had my mind made up from watching talons rip it up over at Norwalk Raceway for years. I knew that my next car would be an AWD car. It's been 6 years for me as well, and I'm finally glad to own the car and not have to make payments!! Next summer is mod madness.......

My Evo obsession started when I was 15/16 back in 2001/2002. I had (still have) a 2002 Mirage, nearly brand new. I thought about doing an Evo conversion. Never did, but I did boost it.
But the first time I saw an Evo in person, it was pretty much the same as everyone else. I just thought "damn.........." It was like a Scuderia just passed by. I would have never thought that just a few years later that I would own one. I would see them from time to time, but it seems like the past 2-3 years, it's rare I see one. When I do see one, I still stare. They don't look like they belong in normal everyday to day traffic. I love it

When i first saw an evo was in 2006 at the los angeles auto show!!
i sat in a electric blue one and it was the nicest car i have ever seen!!
i sat in the driver side of it and started to get the feel of what it would have been like to drive one, and some random guy sat in the passenger seat a little while after, and idk why but i told him that i was going to have this car one day...
haha got mines in February 2009, and they say "becareful for what you wish for, because it might come true" dam that is so true!!!! i got a TB mr with only 11,323 miles!! and im loving every bit of it!!
the evo really is a special car

When the Evo first came here, I pretty much hated it. Not for any particular reason, just that I was young, ignorant and close-minded. My brother had a 2000 Audi S4 (the 2.7 V6 biturbo) that I loved and for whatever reason I felt like I couldn't like it and the Evo (again, young and stupid), so I had to choose one. Of course, this was also at the time I was all imports > domestics, whereas today I'm dreaming of having a C6 Z06 within a few years.
Actually, we were at a red light in it once and a red Evo pulled up to us. The guy started revving and launched when the light turned green. My brother's clutch was already slipping so he didn't even make an effort, but I remember in my mind I was like "OMG EVO DRIVERS ARE DOUCHEBAGS".
Then I grew up and realized it's a great car. The S4 is awesome too but it had reliability problems and was just a PITA to maintain money wise, which is why my brother sold his. 0 problems in two and a half years of daily driving the Evo = .

The first time I saw one was at a local dealership... used. It was bright yellow and caught my eye. I did a little research and realized what type of car it was. Never thought I would own one. Wow... I'm glad I do.

I was happy with my 02 WRX and first saw an Evo 8 MR on the parkway. It was a misty raining morning and its HIDs were on, have to say it look very menacing on the road and loved it since.

Saw my first sometime in 03' in the states, I remember thinking how awesome a new DSM would be.
Later I did my first trans/motor build and I've hated these things with a passion ever since. If they weren't so god damn fast I would never drive one.

Don't remeber my reaction when I first saw an 8... but when I saw my first Evo 9 my uneducated self thought "sick car, but shouldnt there be fog lights or something in those holes, that looks like crap"...
First drive 2 years later was more like....
