help car just shut off

i recently bought an 06 silver mr ix about 2 weeks ago. i still have a 30 day warranty apparently but im trying to figure out the problem aswell.

i was on my way to hyperfest in virgina. it took about 2 hours to get there. we were 8 miles from the hotel and i was crusing about 60 mph and the car sputtered for about 100 feet and just lost all power. my first thought was it was running out of gas. i looked at the gas gauge and it appeared to have half a tank. i walked to the local gas station and put about 2 gallons in it to make sure the gauge didnt take a ****. it was pouring rain most of the way so maybe water got where it wasnt supposed to? i checked all intercooler pipes. all vaccum lines, the maf, the intake was dry. everything was intact battery is full charge. i tried starting it after and it was clicking over but just didnt wanna start.

my guess is the fuel pump took a **** and wont give no pressure? or is it possible the motor locked up? im clueless!

Clicking is the starter motor. It could be several things - can you hear a whine from the fuel pump? Maybe remove the back seat (super easy) and listen for the fuel pump while someone engages the key?

You have 30 days, stop asking us and get it back to the dealer! They should come pick it up for you.

BTW - I am from Seattle and so are a lot of Evo drivers. I can almost guarantee that water didn't get somewhere, unless something that shouldn't be is exposed. Best of luck on the issue.

This happened to me, the coating on the rear o2 sensor wiring had rubbed off a bit, in a rain storm, grounded out my rear o2, blew my ECU fuse.

since it died durning driving, It can't be the battery or starter.. Maybe the alternator is taking a crap, but before it did, it would drain the battery.

You have never seen this then https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/in...lins-rain.html

Not saying this is the OP's issue but after the rear O2 it's worth a look
