Weight Vs H.P
#5
I think it depends on the HP figures on the car itself!!!
For example, if the car has 500hp and weight 1000 kg, the reduction on 100kg (10%) would increase the power to weight per same amount, therefore, the gain will be 50hp..
I dont know if I understood the question, but if I did so,, I think im right

Look at it this way, a semi truck has much more power and torque than an Evo, but why is an Evo faster? The energy associated with movement of an object is associated with 2 things:
Mass in motion
Velocity of that Mass
Since you have less mass the velocity is higher.

Your power to weight ratio increases which results in faster acceleration, you don't gain power but the car does become faster. That's the reason a gutted civic hatch putting out 250whp can compete with a heavier car putting out 350whp.

nice, I was just talking to a couple of guys at my shop about how much weight could be dropped of my street trim evo.
Funny these threads always seem to pop up when I need them
