slower mph per gear
Sorry for the crappy title in advance. Not sure how to describe it in a title exactly.
Basically, I was doing a few launches and I realized that in 2nd gear, I can only get up to ~50-55mph at redline rather than ~60mph as I usually do. Any help why this is so is much appreciated. Also since you are reading this already, there is also what feels like a 1 second lag for the clutch to engage and start pulling again. Only change is I had a new ACT clutch put in not too long ago.
Mods - Basically stock - tbe, intake, uicp, licp, 91 oct.

I'll check on the restrictor pill since I had someone else do the clutch install. But I highly doubt its the clutch, been less than 3k miles. My stock clutch was slipping before and that's why I replaced it. Broke the new one in properly etc. It doesn't feel anything like a clutch going out. The ~1 second delay only happens when I shift at high rpms (redline) and then it grabs on strong and goes. Best way I can describe it is right after I completely release the clutch and WOT, there is a delay before the car completely engages and pulls again. I am just wondering if it could be the install itself.

Compare these specs to your own car (stolen from another thread):
This is assuming you are running stock sized tires on each car.
For gas milage considerations, here is a break down top gear RPM at various cruiseing speeds on the highway.

And for full throttle acceleration considerations, here is a break down of what speed you are going at the top of each gear just befor shifting to the next higher gear (assuming shifting at stock redline of 7,000 RPM) and what RPM you enter the next higher gear at.

Maybe my mind is just being stubborn and not wanting to accept the fact that I just put in a new clutch and it could be slipping Guess I'll need to put aside even more money on the evo once again.
Greatly appreciated the info and quick response. Thnx

Ya, also got a fidanza flywheel. One reason why I am so skeptical is that I made a huge mistake going to them. Had issues as soon as I got my car back from them which were resolved eventually. Stuff like not going into reverse, boost solenoid dangling and not bolted back, things not reconnected, intercooler pipes loosely tightened (good thing I keep a few tools in my car), etc. Just an overall sketchy job, but I guess I should've done more research on my part.

some one also mentioned it.... but check for the slave cylinder restrictor pill. Also look into a S.S. clutch line. When I changed mine, it made the clutch feel 10x better and gave a smoother and more responsive engagement.
