Nope, I did my house for 5 years at 3.65, I closed on July 12th I think. I think the rates should not change that much. I know the loan person was like that is the best rate he has seen is 30 years.

My local dealer has 4 on the lot and none are moving since they are still marking the cars up. People arent going to pay 5000 over sticker any more. They need to adjust the pricing to sell the cars. I think all the talk of bad clutches and paint and other problems have sent people in another direction. Mitsu hasnt helped the situation treating customers badly either. just my thoughts.

There is a market to the genuine EVO enthusiast. These folks bought their EVO early and were not upset with the price. For the most part they were not young kids.
The real volume market is young kids but they have a hard time coming up with $32k, which is what they need for the full delivered price with taxes & tags. Dodge can't make enough SRT4's because the price level - maybe $23k out the door - is within their reach. Mitsubishi needs to be able to sell the car for less to attract more volume, thus the rumors of a stripped down EVO for 04.
I think they need 2 models, one a high end with the full JDM spec and another stripped down even lower than the current USDM EVO. My $.02.

On a related note, the Subaru dealer next to my Mitsu dealer had 12+ STIs on the lot.
These guys wanted me to order an STi 3 months ago with no choice on color or options, heh.

Well, another reason to think about is that the people who want the Evo can't afford the evo. This is like the early 90's all over again. Recession, kids with no money, bye bye japanese supercars. The F-bodies died for the same reason, though they appeal to a different demo

First, from a variety of sources in different countries (UK, NZ, etc.), it appears that the Evo VIII will be the last one.
Second, I wouldn't hold your breath about Evo collectibility. Unless you bought one with delivery miles and socked it away for 20 years, it will depreciate like normal. Just drive it and enjoy it. The best you could hope for is that it becomes valuable in the way a 2JZ Supra is valuable...
