Painting an intercooler FTL...but then again I own an ebay intercooler

And if you havent already figured it out, do not try to run your car without the intercooler. It will run like crap.

yeah if you havent painted it yet, dont paint it. For the catch can problem, i have been using the dump to ground from pcv side vinyl tube and sealing the breather side with a nipple. Intercooler and internals are clean like a whistle since 6000 miles. I have 35k and no oil at all. Search evom, there's a lot of information on catch can and the method i choose to use. Only downside is that i cant pass track inspection with open dump tube.

Looks like turbo may be toast. Check for excessive shaft movement.

And can somebody please tell me how you install a catch can for a charge pipe?

I used a 55 gallon trash can and a gallon of muriatic acid filled the can and let the intercooler sit in it for a few hrs. then flushed and blew out very well. the acid is usually used to clean concrete but worked amazingly.

^ I would have done something like that. Painting it lowers the efficiency of the aluminum I believe.
