Some of you guys are a little confused as to what a catch can does and what causes oil in the chargepipes.

Oil in the chargepipes is caused from turbo seals being worn or too much oil pressure. A catch can will do nothing to help this. Oil in the exhasut can be caused from turbo seals, rings, or valve seals.

What you posted can happen.

However, the air intake system on an evo has a hoes that goes to the valve cover. It sucks oil from there....do a search.

Yea there shouldnt be much oil coming out of that side of the valve cover, at least in my expierence. The intake manifold side has more blow-by on my setup.

after researching this a while back it turns out the paint is about negligable in terms of thermal insulation. I think I would leave an aftermarket IC alone, but this one is stock - ugly - and soon to be rplaced!

I had PosiTech International flush mine. They cleaned, pressure tested, soda blasted the exterior to remove all the aluminum oxide, and did an Alodine (MIL-C-5541) dip for it, all for $30.

They're local to me so I didn't have to pay for shipping.

The finish color looks like this.

Yesir. They used to build automotive intercoolers for the Galant VR-4 and SRT-4, but they dropped the automotive because their aviation dept expanded.
