Get a hold of Russell at mitsubishiparts.net for the best prices on OEM. I think I paid around 130 for diaqueen tranny fluid and gear oil.

Unforunately gear fluid is expensive, I used royal purple and I ended up spending about $75 on just the rear diff and tranny.

Be careful getting it from the dealer, I was given the wrong stuff and it cost me a T-Case. Only buy it if they sell it to you in a sealed container. A local dealer bought it in a 55 gal drum and told me to bring a container that he filled, three t-cases that we used the fluid in failed. He gave me the wrong stuff...

rear diff and t-case shouldn't run you more than 30-40 bucks for 1 gallon (which should be all you need). Tranny fluid (a gallon) is quite a bit more, so if a dealer is quoting you $100 for both, and it is OEM then I say go for it!

The closest dealer to me wouldn't sell me the fluids as they said they only have them in larger quantities (barrels) that they use themselves. I think the parts guy I was speaking to was full of crap but I didn't bother with them anymore.

Agreed with Tx, and I wouldn't trust a non-sealed container of the correct fluid either.

hmmm, the Transfer Case & Rear Diff fluid is 39.14$ in mitsubishiparts.net website ("Diaqueen LSD Gear OIL SAE90"). Or you can use AMSOIL SVG (Severe Gear Lube) although it's slight cheaper just to use the Diaqueen LSD Gear Oil (you get a gallon for 40$ - if you go SVG, talk to OilDoc - he has the best prices hands down on AMSOIL stuff).

The "Diaqueen 75W85 Manual Transmission" fluid that costs 94.72$ is for the Six Speed Tranny (and it's not the one used on the Transfer Case, and Rear Diff). There's another vendor here that sells tranny fluid for the Six Speed that doesn't cost an arm and a leg (Castrol Syntorq - https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...available.html).

BTW, If you live in Southern California - you'll get the fluids cheaper when buying them from South Coast Mitsubishi (30% discount).
