Evo and Lancer climate control question

Both 2003 lancer and Evo models had the same climate control knob issues. Anyone know if the climate control boxes are the same in both models? This would help a lot of us '03 owners with broken heat control knobs. TIA!

Pretty sure they are, at least on the OZ Rally. I know for a fact that 90% of the interior on an OZ model is identical to an evo, minus the Evo steering wheel. My heater/ cool air knob is a biatch to turn sometimes. Is that what your referring to? Hope this helps.

What problems are you referring to? I haven't had a problem yet but on my '03 Sunfire, the stupid plastic piece in the back broke off like 4 times and had to go in for warranty work. Always happened when it was cold but luckily it broke in the defrost position, otherwise it would be undriveable in the sub zero winters (windows freeze over instantly if you park outside at night). I learned not to man handle them and if it's really hard to turn, then let the car warm up a bit. If it's hard to turn in the summer but I don't know if it's the same problem.
