Yeah park in someone elses driveway.

If you want to get a FWD car off your tail without speeding; go into a turn as deep as you feel comfortable and when you hit the apex turn and gas. Most FWD cars will loose the front end trying to corner and accelerate at the same time. Gotta love AWD.

+1 for a squeaky clean driving record.
Thanks, I'm 32 years old now.. have done many stupid things in my early
20's...since then my record has been clean for the past 6+ years or so and I plan to keep it that way.

Just let the haters hate, and let the ricers rice on, just steer clear of them and mind your own business. If they do speak to you be it at a gas station or in a supermarket parking lot, be polite, be brief, dont brag about your EVO or offer up too much info about your mods, finish your business and get the hell out.

You did the right thing. And Keep doing the right thing. Don't let these stupid people mess with you because you are young and have your whole life ahead of you. You could end up hurting yourself or anyone else that's out on the streets. If you need a reminder of how that hurts people, click on that GG VIII on the right column that says "In Memoriam of Mark Modaressi"

After one time of making the mistake to succumb to peer pressure and "street" race in high school I never did it again.

My response was almost always "Come to an autocross." Then it started being "Come out to Miller" (the motorsports park/track). Then as I got older I came up with better remarks. One time someone said "Lets race" (Evo owner when I was in the Porsche too... ) And I said "Okay... You win!"

What else have I said... "You'd win" "I'll lose" "I don't know how" blah blah blah.

That would pretty much be giving them what they want. But I did that to an old 5.0 Mustang that was being a jackass behind me in the Evo... Flipped a U-turn real tight and he tried to keep up. Needless to say I got to watch the accident happen behind me as he hit the center divider and high-centered his car

we've got a similar scene here in everett... a bunch of kids get together on fridays in the Walmart parking lot. that would be fine, but they spend their time burning out and seeing how big they can stroke their egos and strut...they always want me to race them, I just smile and say "nah", they ask me how much power I've got...."enough to be fun", they ask me how fast it is..."fast enough to get me in trouble". I've always thought that every moderately sized city needed an all night autocross/ road track for young people to mess around on and not get themselves or others hurt or worse. I don't need to race some kid out with something to prove in a sub-par car. Last thing I need is to have him do something stupid or have his car break at speed and take me or someone else out. that said this group of kids never tried to surround me, that's pretty aggressive behavior especially if you are alone. That's getting close to grab the tire iron time and boogie. I wouldn't do the whole slamming on the brakes thing....not to say I haven't done that before in other cars, but our evos brake WAY faster than most cars on the road. Even with everyday driving I am always checking my rearview to see if the people not paying attention behind me are going to stop in time. I have had to floor it off the road before because somebody wasn't paying attention and couldn't stop in time. You don't want to have them wrecking your car. Also NEVER go home when some ***** is following you. just drive all over until he loses interest and then go home. Last thing you need is some little tool trying you hurt you, your family, or your car.
